This two year highly vocational and practical course is designed to help aspiring performers to develop the skills needed to break into the Performing Arts industry,

Experienced tutors with a wealth of industry knowledge and experience will help you to develop a range of techniques in acting, singing and dance.  You will be encouraged to explore your unique creativity and be exposed to many of the performance genres you will encounter in a professional capacity. This is designed to help you become a fully rounded and confident performer capable of bringing a new dimension to each role you undertake. The programmes and productions are run to the highest standards and a high level of commitment and passion are necessary to succeed. The College has an excellent reputation in the Performing Arts and performances attract good press reviews and praise from theatrical agencies.

You will have access to great facilities, including sound-proofed well equipped rehearsal rooms, purpose-built dance studios and theatre. With all this at your disposal, you will have everything you need to practise and prepare performances to the highest professional standards laying foundations for future success in the business.

Assessment Methods:

Assessment is based purely on coursework... there is no exam. The course consists of 17 subject units and the course is designed to allow students several chances to succeed in each unit. Work may be re-submitted at any stage during the course to improve grades. Grades attainable range through Pass, Merit, Distinction and Distinction* and hold the same value as C-A* at A-level. The qualification you will receive from this course is equivalent to three A-levels.

Progression:

This course provides a great preparation for a career in the performing arts industry and is designed to enable students to gain paid employment in performance, dance, TV, or related industries.The majority of students progress onto BA Honours Degree courses at Blackpool and the Fylde College and other institutions. 

Teaching Methods:

You will be learn the fundamental techniques of acting, singing and dance through a series of assignments which start with scene and character studies and eventually lead to full-scale productions in our dedicated and newly refurbished theatre complex.
