About this Course:

This course aims to provide you with the math skills needed when entering into employment  and for everyday life. You will be provided with the knowledge and have the opportunity to gain and develop skills in a number of areas. These include, the four rules of whole number, fractions, decimals and percentage, ratio,  proportion,scale, estimation, metric measure, perimeter, area, volume, time, money, handling data and calculating averages

Assessment Methods:

Assessment methods depend on the level of course undertaken:

Entry level courses - assessment is an assignment taken in class under exam conditions

Level 1 and Level 2 - assessment is examination through OCR paper based exams and C&G on line exams

Progression:

Progression is onto Return to Study,  vocational programmes or into employment

Special Features:

The Math programmes offer a flexible approach. Learners can enrol throughout the year and exams are offered on demand throughout the programme.All learners have an individual learning programme to meet individual need and work at their pace.  All courses are free.

Teaching Methods:

The course incorporates a  variety of  methods, group discussions,  observations, practical interactive activities

Skills Developed:

Basic maths skills which are needed for work or everyday life
