GCE AS Level in Health and Social Care
Effective caring – Introducing the various health and social care services, principles for good living and best practice among carers; Effective communication – Introducing and developing communication skills within health and social care settings; Health and disease - Understanding health, illness and disease, and the factors that affect health and wellbeing.
This is mainly portfolio based, with 66% of your final marks coming from work produced and assessed in College. This will involve presentations, essays and report writing.
This broad-based qualification provides a valuable preparation for related careers and further training, with university study also an option. We offer degree programmes in Health and Social Care, Early Years, Early Childhood Studies, Teaching and Learning Support (Primary) and Working with Young People in the Community, all designed to equip you for related careers within this industry.
