Gateway to Further Education Programme

About this Course:

The course is designed for young people 16-18 years old who have left School without qualifications they had hoped to achieve. Or for a young person who has not been in education since School leaving age of 16 and is now looking for a qualification to make a fresh start.

Either ways this course will meet all your educational needs. We will support and guide you and in small steps you will achieve big qualifications you could only dream of.

The course is made up Maths, English, ICT qualifications also giving you additional Employability Skills that we all need once we leave education and head for the world of employment.

Apart from that you will get an opportunity to choose a Vocational Gateway from : Business, IT, Hair & Beauty, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Catering, Construction, Motor Mechanics.

This will enable you to prepare for the career of your choice. Excellent progression routes within college, small class sizes, working at your personal level with your own personal targets are only few of the benefits of this programme.

Assessment Methods:

Initial assessments in English and maths completed at interview stage. Functional Skills in English, maths and ICT will be assessed by externally. For Employability and Personal Development units will be assessed throughout the course and you will build up a portfolio of evidence

Progression:

Progression into Level 1 or Level 2 courses within identified vocational areas

We help you to improve your English, Maths and ICT skills. We also help you to become more confident. You will learn better ways to work with people and cope in situations.
