First Aid at Work (Refresher)

About this Course:

The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to enable first aid to be given to employees if they are injured or become ill at work. These Regulations apply to all workplaces including those with five or fewer employees and to the self-employed. Detailed information can be found in the Approved Code of Practice and Guidance: First aid at work. The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 L74

Assessment Methods:

All candidates are continually assessed during the course to confirm their competency.

Special Features:

Upon completion of the First Aid at Work Annual Refresher course, successful candidates should demonstrate their competence to:

  • Assess the situation in an emergency
  • Administer First Aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)
  • Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Administer First Aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
  • Administer First Aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock

Funding Information

Most students do not have to pay full tuition fees and many students have their course fees waived completely depending on their age and circumstances.
