Beauty Therapy (BTEC) - Level 3

About this Course:

The aim of this course is to equip learners with the theoretical and therapy aspects of the beauty industry, to be able to offer all aspects of beauty therapy treatments and also to research new developments within the Industry.  BTEC Nationals are designed to provide highly specialist work related qualifications in the sector.  They give learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment.  The qualifications also provide career development opportunities for those already in work and through articulation to higher education.

Assessment Methods:

The course is assessed using a variety of methods including observation of practical work, written assignments, case studies, written test papers and externally set assessments.  Students will produce a portfolio of evidence to support the assessments.

Progression:

The Beauty and Related industry is worth over £5 billion, it has 15,00 employers and over 200,000 full and part time jobs.   On successful completion of the qualification a learner can progress to or within employment and/or continue their study to HND in the same, or related vocational area.
