About this Course:

This course will be delivered in the evening over a three-hour period. It is an introductory course which covers essential basic business mathematics and double entry bookkeeping, covering the basic concepts of double entry bookkeeping to trial balance. At the end of the course the learner will be able to progress onto the AAT Certificate Level 2.

  • Mathematics for accounting
  • Accounting in a professional environment e.g., Ethics in accounting
  • Double entry bookkeeping
  • The Cash Book
  • The Ledger Accounts
  • Balance off the Cash Book and Ledger Accounts
  • Preparation of the Trial Balance
  • Creating business documents

Assessment Methods:

Assessment will take the form of a computer-based assessment.
