A Message from the Principal

If one of your new year’s resolutions is to change your career, do something different or learn a new skill then we may just be able to help you keep at least one of your resolutions for 2010.

January is the perfect time to start a new course and we have a wide range of programmes covering many interesting subjects starting in the New Year.

Here at Blackpool and The Fylde College we ended 2009 on a huge high with the official opening of our new University Centre at Palatine Road. This £10 million facility is already being enjoyed by thousands of our students and is proving a valuable and pleasing resource as we enter 2010 in equally high spirits.

The new building, the Central Hub, is a fantastic space containing a learning resource centre, a refectory, student services area and social space for students. In addition, we’ve created new teaching accommodation within the redeveloped South Building, the Theatre has been extended, a new Gallery has been created in the Palatine building and the site has been re-landscaped to create a more coherent campus with a genuine collegiate feel.

Those are just some of the features you can look forward to if you sign up to one of our higher education, or indeed some further education courses, but you’ll also benefit from dedicated and expert teachers who are happy to go the extra mile to support you in achieving your aspirations.

Whatever campus you study at, you’ll find a friendly, supportive environment and like minded people. All our staff appreciate the demands of adult learning and you can be assured of their guidance throughout your course. Plus you’ll find many of our programmes are flexible or structured around school hours to allow you to study around existing family or work commitments.
