At a House of Commons reception on 4th March, Edge, an independent education foundation, dedicated to raising the status of practical and vocational learning, came together with MPs, teachers and students to launch VQ Day 2009 to be held on June 24th. VQ Day is a national day to celebrate achievements in practical and vocational learning.

Gordon Marsden MP, Siôn Simon, Further Education Minister for the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills and Garry Hawkes, President of Edge, were amongst the speakers at the event.
