Blackpool and The Fylde College is once again celebrating A-Level success, with pass rates exceeding 90 per cent for the sixth year running.
Students performed particularly strongly in subjects such as sociology, media studies and film studies. Students also succeeded in achieving 100 per cent A-C grades in 74 per cent of all subjects studied. In addition AS Level subject pass rates increased by 11 per cent Andy Forbes, Vice Principal for Curriculum and Standards at the college said:
“A is for Advance, and that's exactly what these results will let our students do. Our excellent A Level pass rate and the high grades achieved this year give our students a great springboard to go on to higher education. They can either progress to a good University away from home or choose to stay local and take a top quality Lancaster University Degree course here at the College. Blackpool and The Fylde College is now offering more university courses than ever, many of them directly linked to major employers operating in the region, like BAE Systems and Gala Coral Ltd. For all our successful A Level students it's a win-win situation and we're really pleased for them."
Many of the college’s own degree programmes such as the new Media Writing and Production Foundation Degree, begin in January, allowing students a break from their studies before progressing to Higher Education.
