Governors’ Awards Celebrate Excellence in Teaching

The annual Governors’ Awards saw more than 100 exceptional tutors nominated for Excellence in Learning and Teaching Awards for the 2009/10 academic year.

A glitzy ceremony was held at the Hilton Hotel for all nominees, who were each presented with a certificate by Stephen Lamley, Chair of Governors, to mark the honour.

The selection panel had the tough task of short-listing ten highly commended from all of the nominees, and then choosing three eventual overall winners who received a cash prize.

Congratulations to eventual winners Peter Brooks from the School of Health, Care and Early Years, Maggie Hilton from the School of Access and Continuing Education and Katherine Davies from the School of Academic Studies.
