'Get Set' for London 2012

Blackpool and The Fylde College is proud to announce it has become a member of the London 2012 ‘Get Set’ network.

The College would like to share its success with others in the local community by offering a series of education projects which are inspired by the Games and the Olympic and Paralympic Values.

Whether you are a local school, community group or an interested individual, we would encourage you to make use of the projects to be rolled out in the next year and beyond the Games.

The College will be offering a range of free, flexible resources with the Paralympic and Olympic Values at their heart. These will be suitable for 4-16 year olds and will include fact sheets, power-point presentations and a host of useful links that include inspirational films, interactive games, news articles and an Educators section for practitioners and senior management.

Living the Olympic and Paralympic Values

Sebastian Coe, chairman of LOCOG, said:

When London won the right to host the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, we made a clear promise to use the power of the 2012 Games to inspire young people. I am proud to welcome Blackpool and The Fylde College in to the Get Set network for their exciting work around the Olympic Values of friendship, excellence and respect and the Paralympic Values of inspiration, courage, determination and equality.
