Ansdell is set to get it’s very own dedicated Adult Community Learning centre thanks to a summer relocation by Blackpool and The Fylde College.

From September 2011, the College’s exciting range of community courses will be operated from the Ansdell Campus, better known for its Hairdressing, Beauty and Related Therapies provision. The centre will offer leisure courses designed for people wanting to learn new skills, pursue hobbies or meet friends with similar interests.

The relocation is part of the College’s wider Property Strategy, which has also seen improvements to the Bispham Campus, University Centre and Fleetwood Nautical Campus. The provision was previously homed at Carr Head adult learning centre, but will now run from a number of local community venues, making the courses even more accessible for people across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.

The centre will offer modern teaching facilities with access to a café, learning resource centre and even the opportunity to visit the on site hair and beauty salon.

Courses available range from active sessions such as Pilates and Yoga to creative classes including watercolours and life drawing. There are also opportunities for those wishing to improve their language skills in French, Spanish and Italian, computer courses for beginners and even tips on researching your family history. Many of the courses even offer free taster sessions to people wanting to have a go before they sign up!
