The College scooped its first Lancashire Green Award thanks to the hard work of Sustainability Officer Pam Reynolds, the Estates Team and Eco-Technology student John Elliot.

The College was honoured in the Green Transport category for producing and using its own Biodiesel to run the delivery van. Waste vegetable oil from the School of Catering and the College’s refectories is used to make the fuel.

Judges said: “This innovative use of waste material to produce Biodiesel is not only simple and efficient, but it also sets a good example to all of the students.”
