Come and study at a brand new, purpose built creative University Centre, right at the heart of Blackpool. opened in 2009, our multi-million pound h.e. centre has brought together all our University course facilities and resources in a fantastic new state-of-the-art site.
It means our higher education students now have a focus for their studies and social life. A place they can truly call their own, uniting the brand new Centre with the original College buildings and all the support, advice, entertainment and really great food you could ever need.
There’s a newly revamped theatre that plays host to professional and student productions, concerts and stand-up shows. Plus a new art gallery, housing works by both our own students and by independent artists. Our inaugural exhibition ‘Selection’ includes original work by Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst and Peter Starkey.
The regeneration of the College is similarly reflected in the town itself with ambitious projects that are transforming Blackpool into a world-class visitor destination for the 21st century. At the heart of this regeneration are a number of spectacular arts developments including the Sculpture Trail on the South Promenade, the creation of St John’s Precinct and the launch of a striking light and sound experience.
Unsurprisingly, these developments have attracted the interest of creative individuals nationwide with Blackpool’s creative industries now employing a very high number of professionals who are increasingly contributing to the cultural and economic growth of the area. In fact, there has never been a better time to study the arts here with a wealth of inspiration and opportunity right on the doorstep.
