Blackpool is the largest entertainment venue outside of London. It is currently the centre of a very ambitious regeneration programme and with the creative industries at the heart of Blackpool’s development there couldn’t be a more exciting time to study here on the Fylde Coast.
Performing in our own Brick Workshop Theatre, as well as nationally acclaimed local theatres, you will be presented with many opportunities to work to industry standards within a professional environment. Our very experienced, energetic and highly talented team of specialists provide some of the very best training in acting, musical theatre, dance, technical theatre, costume, and events and stage management.
Last year productions included ‘Urinetown’, a Broadway hit and TONY Award winning Musical, and ‘Terrorism’ by The Presnyakov brothers, first performed at the Moscow Arts Theatre in 2002 and later transferred to The Royal Court Theatre, London. This was its premiere in the North West of England! We also staged ‘Osama the Hero’, a black comedy which explores the concept of hero worship.
These productions reflect the diverse range of performance material studied here at Blackpool and The Fylde College and they were all critically acclaimed by the local press and visiting agents.
Our schedule this year includes ‘A Clockwork Orange’ by Anthony Burgess, and scene studies from British contemporary authors, 1980-2007, plus a range of dance and musical theatre performances.
