You will develop practical and analytical skills by exploring the following areas: Writing Scripts and Producing Storyboards for Short Films; Constructing Newspaper and Magazine Front Covers; Creating Soap Operas and Short Film Extracts; Representing Different Cultural Groups; Targeting and Manipulating Audiences; Constructing Adverts to Appeal to a Target Audience; How Entire Industries Entertain, Educate, Manipulate and Succeed; How the Media is Censored and Controlled; Understanding and Producing Print Projects; Analysing the Media and Developing Independent Thinking. The programme features visits from local radio station Radio Wave.
This involves a mix of written and practical coursework along with four exams.
