Bispham Campus
Study modules include Core Mathematics (covering algebra, geometry, trigonometry and calculus), Decision and Discrete Mathematics (where you’ll explore networks and critical path analysis) and either Statistics or Mechanics. Top students may be eligible to take Further Mathematics if they wish. Visits to related conferences are a feature of this course.
This is carried out by examinations, with some coursework also being assessed.
The particular skills of mathematicians make them ideal candidates for a number of specialist degree courses and careers, from accountancy and business management to computing and even genetics. Details of our own university courses can be found in our University Education section
We are a highly qualified and committed team of staff, many of whom are experienced external examiners. We have a genuine enthusiasm for our subject, which we try to pass on through varied and interesting learning methods. A pass rate of 95% every year for almost the last decade speaks for itself.
