GCSE qualifications are necessary for most jobs these days and are an important gateway to other courses at a higher level, including A-levels.

Our two-year GCSE programme consists of a series of specifically-designed qualifications that will help you to move your life forward. The first year introduces you to a variety of subjects, whilst concentrating on the essential skills of literacy and numeracy. In the second year you will then be able to take full subject GCSEs.

Some students will be able to join the second year of the GCSE programme and fast-track to GCSEs. The GCSE programme is based at our Bispham Campus and features the following:

• An excellent success rate, with 94% of our re-sit students obtaining a pass in 2007 – the fifth year running that the pass rate topped 90%.
• Access to excellent academic and social facilities.
• A personal tutor to support you through your studies.
• Enrichment activities to make learning more relevant and enjoyable
• The opportunity to set, work towards and review personal achievement targets.
• Advanced Level tasters to help you make the right choices at level 3.

Full-time GCSE programme

If you have a D grade for GCSE you will be able to complete your course in a year. If your grades are lower than a D you will be able to complete your course in 2 years. GCSEs are available in the following areas;
