

As a WorldSkills UK Champion, Blackpool and The Fylde College’s Principal and Chief Executive Pauline Waterhouse OBE, is responsible for encouraging organisations to get involved in WorldSkills UK competitions, raising the level of skills and the aspirations of young people and increasing the number of people participating in these skills competitions.
The College has a long and proud tradition of successful participation in WorldSkills competitions and is pleased to be involved in a number of disciplines once again in 2011.

School of Hairdressing, Beauty and Related TherapiesThe School took part in the regional heats in May and did very well, with the following students placed:

Lisa Tanner-Marshall, Tina Kiely and Lisa Fallows will go through to the national final in Cambridge on Saturday 25th June.
The School will be entering students in:
Laura Slack, Pathway to Nursing Year 1, achieved one of the top 10 results in the country in the Caring competition and will compete at the national final in London in July

On Friday 31st March 2011, the School of Construction hosted the Northwest heats of the Skillbuild competition for the second year running. Both our Bispham and Kincraig sites were involved.
