CoVE Success - Automotive Manufacturing

Centres of Vocational Excellence (12/07/05)

School of Engineering and Computing awarded CoVE status in Automotive Manufacturing.

Blackpool and The Fylde College is honoured to have received its third CoVE award. This CoVE represents a partnership of the North West’s premier automotive training providers. Our partners in this award are:

  • The Partnership for Learning
  • St Helens College
  • West Cheshire College
  • Total People Ltd.
  • Halton College

On the 12th July 2005 our summer became even brighter when we received official written confirmation of our success from Gordon Burns, the Chief Executive of Partnership for Learning:

"..I am very pleased to confirm that following local and regional validation of your proposal for a Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) in Automotive Manufacturing, the national CoVE Policy and Selection Panel has approved your CoVE, which can now begin its first development year of the programme.."

Following this notification, Charles Kennedy MP even found time to visit our Automotive Facility and meet the students and staff during the Liberal Democrat Conference.

Several colleges in this part of the North West competed fiercely for this honour, but it is Blackpool and The Fylde College, along with our partners above, who have been cited by Government as best practice.

If you are considering a career in Automotive Manufacturing, then look no further for great industry links to ensure you achieve your full potential.
