If you are about to leave school...

If you are about to leave school, there are many choices open to you, including vocational training (NVQs, Diplomas, BTEC, Technical Certificates), GCSEs and A-levels, and apprenticeships.

Returning to education after some time can be very exciting, but also a little daunting. However, there is a range of routes in to suit most people.

These days it is increasingly useful to have a degree if you want to get on in your career. There are a number of study routes available:

  • If you are a school leaver, or have recently left school, the normal route onto a degree course will be by studying for GCSEs and A-Levels – or their equivalent – first. You can find out more here.
  • If you already have further education qualifications, there are a number of higher education qualifications you can study for on your way to a degree. You can find out more about here.
  • If you have few formal qualifications but have been working for some time, you may be able to use your work experience to gain entry onto a foundation degree course. Find out more about this here.

If you are an international student looking to study in the UK...

If you are a student from outside the EU, Blackpool and The Fylde College is a friendly and exciting place to study. The College offers a wide range of courses which meet UK Borders Agency (UKBA) requirements for the granting of international student visas.
